Autumn Queen Cabbage

Description

The solid, tender, sweet heads are delicious when eaten raw in salads, coleslaw, or added to a stirfry. The outer leaves change to a dark green colour in autumn. This cabbage is ideal in both Summer and Autumn.

Sowing Instructions:

Sow March to June. Sow thinly, 1cm (½in) deep in drills 23cm (9in) apart in well-drained, fertile soil which has been well raked to a fine tilth and which contains plenty of well-rotted compost.

Growing Instructions:

Transplant when seedlings have 5-6 leaves, spacing by 30-45cm (12-18in) apart.

Aftercare Instructions:

Water regularly, especially during dry periods. Hoe between plants occasionally, and give a liquid feed as heads begin to develop. Harvest from late summer to autumn.
