Herring's Pippin Apple Tree

Herring's Pippin is a mid-season desert apple which is ripe in early September. It's a Victorian variety bred in Lincoln around 1908. It will store for around six weeks and is soft, juicy and aromatic although slightly bland tasting. Picture taken at Hill Close Gardens in August 2008.
