Message: Ive gardened in a small town garden for many years. Moving to a house with a large open sunny garden . Excited about having fruit bushes and making a veg plot.

Great that you are starting gardening. Not a lot to do planting in October. Make the soil ready for spring by digging in manure and compost, add a fertiliser like blood and bone. If you must, try broad beans.
