Message: For those wishing to know the maggot inside is that of the plum moth. It has a pinkish body and brown head and the brown pellets found around the stone at the centre of the fruit are its excrement. They are harmless to eat and barely affect the flavour. Plums that ripen later in the season are less likely to be affected.

Message: our plums look to be very good with no outsde markings of invaders , but when you open them up to remove the pip there is a small pink Maggot this is the first time this has ever happend. it is a Victoria plum tree & we have two close to one another there is also black specs in it please can you tell me what is happening thanks

Message: I have a plum tree and enjoying these at the momemnt.I have just eaten a plum but half way through one i noticed a small maggot and little specs inside. I had eaten most of it too and im now worried, it didnt taste bad but any advice please?

Message: I recently purchased a home in the country complete w/ apple trees, pear trees and one plum tree. I have only seen fruit on it the first year. I just checked it and found all the foilage has holes and some are a burnt orange color. I saw one plum and it had black spots on it. What can I do next year to help it yield fruit and protect it from whatever is eating it?

Message: i have had my plum tree for about two years, grown from stone, the upper leaves have dark green veins but the rest of the leaf is yellow ish and has brown edges,some of the upper leaves are totaly brown and dead and the new small leaves dont dier soon after starting to grow, it still lives inside and is about a foot and a half high, any help would be great.

Message: when we moved house we had two victoria plum trees, one has since died and the 2nd one is now going the same way.
first the leaves turned yellow in mid summer after the tree had shed its imature crop.
is this a tree problem or a soil problem???

Message: Hi, our plum trees have always had a great harvest, but for the past two years, the fruit hasn't turned out. I found bugs on a lot of the plums which looks like ladybugs and have latched themselves on the fruit. Can anyone tell me what these are and how to get rid of them? Also, there is something pinkish-greenish growing on the leaves that cover the entire leaves and causes the leaves to shrivel. Can anyone tell me what this is? I would really appreciate it.

Half of the green plums have this glue / amber looking small group of blobs on the bottom, is this a pest of some sort, i have no previous experience of these things. Please help.

Message: My plum tree is loaded each year with plums only to have them fall off the tree when they first begin to turn ripe. I noticed when they begin to turn ripe theirs a brown mass around the plum. Can you help!
