It has a pinkish body and brown head and the brown pellets found around the stone at the centre of the fruit are its excrement. They are harmless to eat and barely affect the flavour. Plums that ripen later in the season are less likely to be affected.

I have only seen fruit on it the first year. I just checked it and found all the foilage has holes and some are a burnt orange color. I saw one plum and it had black spots on it. What can I do next year to help it yield fruit and protect it from whatever is eating it?
