Virtue Swede

 

Description: 

Virtue swede is bred as a culinary swede, for its attractive red skin and fine grained, sweet yellow flesh. It has much improved root quality and a better taste than older varieties. This variety is fully winter hardy.

Cropping:

Harvest earlier sowings during August. Later sowings will mature during autumn and can remain in the ground throughout winter.

Sowing Instructions:

Sowing Time is from  April to June. Sow thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart in well-drained, fertile soil, which has been raked to a fine tilth. Water the ground regularly, especially in dry periods.

Growing Instructions: 

Thin out the seedlings at an early stage, to 10-15cm (4-6in) apart.
