Surrey has a predominantly chalk soil because of the South Downs. It also has the highest proportion of woodland of all the counties. Renowned for gardening, Surrey is home to RHS Wisley and the Royal Botanic Gardens. No wonder then, that Surrey  is home to many independent garden centres and some of the best in the UK.
