Cafe at Dobbies, Ayr

The cafe contains several rather clinical looking seating areas. They were neither homely nor
interesting but they were clean and neat.
The range of foods included thee main meal specials at around £6.95, salads at £4.50 / £6.95, plus a range of snacks, cakes, coffees and teas. this cafe is licensed for alcohol and wine is sold. |

The food quality is average to good, although overall it shows little inspiration or individuality. Coffee /tea and cakes are good however. the outside seating area (click left hand picture to enlarge) seems to have been forgotten as far as style is concerned. A few metal chairs scattered just outside the main cafe with a very unattractive view to one side. |
HOUSE PLANTS

The range of house plants for sale was the most extensive we have seen at a Dobbies garden centre. the plants were in good condition and at average prices. |
INDOOR SALES AREA

The indoor sales area occupies at least half of the sales area at this branch of Dobbies. It sells the usual comprehensive range of gifts, cards and books. It also has a good range of conservatory and outdoor furniture. Barbecues are well featured as well. The range of garden accessories and tools is comprehensive. |

OTHER FACILITIES

The aquatics centre stocks a very good range of tropical and fresh
water fish, feeds, tanks and accessories. In the food hall is an excellent butchers shop, cheese shop and lots of delicatessen foods. |

DISABLED FACILITIES
Excellent all round for wheelchair users. The paths are wide and clutter-free.
TOILETS
Ladies, gents, disabled and baby changing facilities were all clean and functional.
CAR PARKING
Lots of car parking space near the entrance. It was on flat ground and well drained.

SUMMARY
Another large Dobbies garden centre in the standard modern formula. The plants are good,
the indoor sales area is exceptional and the cafe is average. The drawback is that plants
area lacks any thought to make it interesting or individual.
