Dobbies have their head office at the Edinburgh garden centre so we had high hopes of finding a quality garden centre. We weren't disappointed, it's a good garden centre.

PLANTS
There was a large plant area at the Dobbies Edinburgh garden centre. All your favourite plants are there and they have also specialised in large amounts of seasonal stock. At the time of our visit there was an enormous amount of fruit and ornamental trees. Click on the right hand picture for an idea of just how many. Roses were also present in large amounts.

Trees at Dobbies, Edinburgh

All the plants were healthy looking and hardy shrubs had the standard, excellent five year guarantee from Dobbies.
The paths were wide and uncluttered making wheelchair access easy.
Overhead signs were distinctly lacking making finding specific plants difficult. Once found though, individual plant information was good.

Aside from plants, the outside area stocked everything you would expect from a large garden centre. The range of greenhouses and sheds was particularly comprehensive.

Pots and planters were there in large amounts. There was a separate area for the extensive range of water garden features.

Greenhouses and sheds at Dobbies, Edinburgh

Large parts of the outdoor area were under cover giving some protection from rain. Great for Edinburgh!
