PLANTS AREA
| The mainly uncovered plants area is small in size but has an interesting
layout. Ginkgo Garden Centre specialise in unusual and necessarily expensive centre
piece potted plants. Some cost several hundred pounds. There is also an excellent range
of unusual tubs, window baskets, containers and garden ornaments, again expensive.
Particularly interesting are the sales areas under the arches of the nearby tube
station. |
 |
INDOOR SALES AREA
|
There is a very small indoor sales area which stocks a small range of seeds, plant
feeds and accessories. Only the basic items are stocked. |
|
WATER FEATURES
There are a few water features dotted around the garden centre. They tend to be of the
slightly unusual type.
INDOOR PLANTS
There is a range of indoor plants at reasonable prices.
SPECIALITIES
As well as selling plants and garden accessories, the Ginkgo Garden Centre offers a
landscaping and garden design service.
TOILETS
Yes, access is via the cafe. The toilets were not particulkarly good at the time of our
visit.
CAFE
The Ginkgo cafe offers all the normal cafe fayre but many items are slightly off beat.
Having said that, the quality of the food was excellent and the prices very competitive for
this area of London. We were impressed. An example of their departure from the norm can be
judged from the "soup of the day" when we visited. Not your normal mushroom soup, tomato,
vegetable soups. No, the ginkgo cafe was offering curried celeriac soup! Excellent stuff.
They sell an excellent range of main meals which certainly had that superb
home-cooked look and taste. There is also a range of coffees, teas cakes and snacks. Prices
were good as the £1.85 for the very tasty coffee indicates.
CAR PARKING
None, on road parking is likely to be difficult in this area.
