| Hilliers garden centre was bought in April 2009 and is still in the
process of being upgraded. A medium sized garden centre, it aims to serve the local
population with the majority of their garden needs. |
This is a totally independent GardenAction opinion of Hilliers garden
centre in Banbury.
HILLIERS GARDEN CENTRE - THE PLANTS AREA
 |
The range of plants was good for a garden centre of this size. As you
would expect there are no particular specialist areas. However, most of the plants you
would normally look for are here. Although not a large outdoor plants area, it was
surprising to see that there were no signs at all to indicate where plants were located.
Within a plant group, the plants were in alphabetic order. |
We saw no hardy plant guarantee advertised at this garden centre and we
are not aware that Hilliers offer one. Slightly disappointing for a large chain of
garden centres. However, the quality of the plants looked good.
The design, of the plants area, within its relatively small space was average. It was
good to see that they had managed to squeeze in an advice centre with reference books. |
