Cafe at Lady Green Garden Centre

CAFE AT LADY GREEN GARDEN CENTRE

The quality of the food in the cafe is exceptional. The main meals specials (see below for picture of the specials menu) are a delight. Exceptional ingredients, cooked to perfection and extremely tasty.

Specials are £6.95, jacket potatoes £3.50 to £4.50, baguettes £4 to £5, toasties £4.75 and a kids menu at £2.50 to £4. All great value for the quality of the food.

The interior of the cafe is designed along the lines of a cottage. Exposed brick walls, solid wood tables and chairs all go to creating a very pleasing environment for eating. The whole area is spotlessly clean. This cafe has real atmosphere, and this is clear from the number of people using the cafe.

The queue was about three minutes when we visited at peak time. Main meals were served promptly your table by pleasant and helpful staff.

As well as the indoor seating area, there is a very pleasant outdoor seating area. This was not just a concreted area with some chairs and tables. It had been designed to blend in with the gardens exceptionally well. This is an exceptional cafe.

HOUSE PLANTS
House plants There was a large selection of house plants in the indoor sales area. They were healthy and well-watered.

They weren't just an add-on either, as is common in many other garden centres. The area was attractively designed and the plants very tastefully arranged.

INDOOR SALES AREA

Gift sales area

The indoor sales area was stocked with a good range of gifts, cards, books, etc. There was also a good range of garden furniture. Barbecues and general garden tools were well stocked.

Garden furniture

DISABLED FACILITIES
Wheelchairs are available at the main entrance for no cost. The majority of the indoor and outdoor areas are accessible by wheelchair users.

TOILETS
These were clean and functional.

CAR PARKING
A large car park is available near the entrance. It was on level land and well drained.

SUMMARY
A top quality garden centre. The plants are excellent, guaranteed for five years and the setting is tranquil and engaging. Top marks for the designer of the outdoor plants area.

The cafe is homely, attractive and has real atmosphere. The food compares very well to some of the best gastro-pubs.

Lady Green Garden Centre has our unreserved recommendation.
