Mockridge Nurseries are 100% plants. No gift shop, no tools no toilets or cafe, just plants and a few accessories. This allows them to do what they are best at, growing top quality plants at rock bottom prices.

We came across them by accident when were visiting Notcutts at Ashton-under-Lyne. Click here for our Notcutts review. To get to Mockridge Nurseries from Norcutts, turn left at the Notcutts exit, left at the traffic lights then left at the next set. Follow the unmade road bearing left. They are about half a mile away.

A large proportion of Mockridge is under cover (see pictures below) which is great for rainy days. They sell a huge range of top quality plants under plastic greenhouses. Bedding plants, shrubs herbaceous plants, climbers and much more.

If they specialise in anything it's probably clematis but the range of plants on offer is so large for a nursery that you'll find everything you want here.

They are a minute or so drive away from Notcutts and you'd be silly not to visit Mockridge Nurseries before you go to Notcutts. Prices are on average about 50% cheaper at this nursery compared to Notcutts and in almost every case the nursery plants are far better quality.

A simple price comparison for Houttuynia plants show they cost £2.25 at Mockridges compared to £9 at Notcutts.  Both are good quality with nursery plants coming slightly on top.

Another price comparison is clematis. £4.50 at Mockridge Nurseries, £9.00 upwards at Notcutts. And with clematis, the nursery plants are far higher quality. We show a small picture gallery below of the nursery. Click any picture on this page to enlarge it.

SUMMARY
A superb nursery selling a large range of high quality plants at exceptionally low prices. Beats Notcutts Ashton Park normally by 50% lower prices. We recommend Mockridge Nurseries very highly for quality, range and value.
