Roundtrees Garden Centre,
Bristol
(page 2)

HOUSE PLANTS

There was only a very small range of houseplants for sale. What there was looked in good condition and at average prices. There was an unusually large proportion of carnivorous plants for sale.

OTHER FEATURES

Alexandra Conservatories

On the same site were Alexandra Conservatories. They specialise in up market conservatories and cane furniture. Click here to access their website.

The display of conservatories was particularly impressive, we counted 12 large conservatories in all.

Also on site were Clearwater Leisure. Click here to visit their website.

They specialise in hot tubs. At the time of our visit they were in the middle of a product upgrade so not many tubs were available on display. Normally though they have around 12 models on display.

AQUATICS AND PETS

Aquatics Roundtrees garden centre have their own medium sized aquatics shop which is well stocked with a variety of fish. They are well-looked after by the staff and a £6,000 pump and water filter system. The water is automatically changed on a regular basis ensuring the fish are not stressed and the water is kept crystal clean.

The aquatics centre stocks a good range of accessories including feeds, tanks and pumps.

There are no pets for sale but there was a comprehensive range of feeds and accessories for all the common pets.

CAFE
The cafe at Roundtrees is not mentioned on their website which is strange because it is excellent. The food is mainly aimed at light lunches, snacks and cakes but there were also a few well chosen hot specials.

Prices were good, the hot specials were all around £5 which is excellent value. The cafe is light and airy with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is good quality with hot food being served to your table. At the time of our visit we expected few people to be in the cafe but this was not the case at this garden centre cafe. Sometimes the best cafes need no advertising and this was clearly the case here.

DISABLED FACILITIES
Most of the site was accessible in a wheelchair although some parts of the outdoor plant area were gravel. The aisles were generally wide and flat although there were more slopes than normal. Toilets for the disabled were available.

TOILETS
The toilets were clean and presentable.

CAR PARKING
Car parking was easy and plentiful for the size of garden centre.
