Stonemarket Russell's host the largest stock of Stonemarket paving, chippings and walling of all the garden centres in the UK. They stock 80% of the entire Stonemarket range on site, ready for you to purchase and take away the same day.

The products are of the highest quality and are ethically produced.

Stonemarket are one of only two UK companies who have signed up to the Ethical Trade Initiative. Click here to learn a little bit about how Stonemarket do not use child labour, do pay living wages to their employees and do provide them with safe working conditions in countries such as India.

On the right is a picture of some of the colours and textures which are in the range. Click the picture to enlarge it.

We have not visited any other garden centre in the UK which has has the same readily available stock and variety of stone compared to Russell's. If it's paving, chipping or walling you want then this is the place for you.

Garden displays When we revisited Russell's Garden Centre late in 2008 we found that the Stonemarket display had been extended to include 14 easy care display gardens using their stones.

This makes Russell's a must visit garden centre if you are looking to buy stoneware.

Log cabin Finally, if you need any bespoke carpentry or joinery then stroll over to Dave's stunning log cabin at this garden centre. Click the picture on the left to see what he can do for you.

Date of Visit: Winter 2008

Russell's Garden centre are really a medium sized garden centre. They provide an excellent range of plants and small trees in an attractive location. Combine this, all on the one site, with specialist nursery Avondale, a huge range of quality stone from Stonemarket and Dave's carpentry and this garden centre is a winner. To make a visit more enjoyable, there is the display garden by Avondale and the stunning gardens provided by Russell's.

It's not all praise though. The disabled facilities are non-existent, the cafe is closed for a refurbishment, and on a personal note, the lack of signs in the large plant sales area makes finding specific plants difficult. Aside from the last point though, all these will be corrected by the refurbishment scheduled for completion in 2008.
