PLANTS AREA
| The outside plants area stocks a reasonable range of plants and shrubs
for a garden centre of this size. They stock a very comprehensive range of fruit and
ornamental trees. The plants area is part covered and had signs which were clear and
informative. It lacked any inspiration though to encourage customers to buy more. |

INDOOR SALES AREA

The indoor sales area stocks most gardening items for the average gardener. The
whole area looks rather worn out and in need of a makeover.
As well as gardening items they stock a range of gifts, books, cards, barbecues
and similar. |

CAFE
| The cafe is simply an open division of the main indoor sales area. The
layout and decor is uninspiring with very dirty windows. Although the menu advertises
main meal specials, none were available when we visited. This is really a coffee (£1.45)
shop with snack foods such as pre-prepared toasties (around £2.50), paninis (around £4)
and hot potatoes (£3 to £4). There was a good range of breakfast meals. |

The prices were cheap but this was reflected in the lack of quality of the
basic ingredients. The presentation however, was good and hot food was served to your table.
The staff were helpful and doing their best with poor basic ingredients and lacklustre
surroundings.
