| Sometimes garden centre entrances can be misleading. In this case
though the entrance was appropriate to the garden centre. Unimposing, a bit tatty
and very uninspiring. This is not one of favourite garden centres as our review
shows. |

Taunton Garden Centre in the Taunton, Somerset area. Click any

PLANTS AREA
| The paths were wide and straight with nothing to distract from the
boring design. Maybe it was the timing of our visit but there were no signs in the
plants area to direct you to specific groups of plants. This made finding specific
plants very difficult indeed. The plants were all of good quality and in a healthy
condition. They also came with a 5 year guarantee. |

The quantity and range of plants for sale was small for a garden centre of this
size.
INDOOR SALES AREA

The indoor sales area was uninspiring and looked decidedly basic. We did note
though that it looked like a refit was in progress so maybe this will improve.
There were lots of gifts, cards, books, barbecues and furniture. There was also a
reasonable range of garden accessories such as spades, forks, plant feeds and weed
killers. |

CAFE
| The cafe was a very plain, basic and boring set up. The tables and
chairs were of a particularly cheap looking plastic fake wood finish. One table had
tissues propping up a leg to stop the table wobbling. A length of electric cabling
drooped below the main serving counter. Not impressive at all. There were indoors and
outdoors seating areas. |

The food was about average quality with the main meal specials costing £7 to
£8. Sandwiches, baguettes and toasties were also for sale as was coffee, tea and cakes.

No live pets, a small selection of pet accessories.

The toilets were adequate, functional and clean

There were lots of car spaces on flat ground immediately near to the entrance.

DISABLED ACCESS
Disabled access was generally good throughout. Wheelchairs were available at the front
entrance for no cost.

Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm
Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm
SUMMARY
Not up to the standard of your normal Wyevale's with a low number of plants for sale.
The cafe was drab with average food.
