| The
greatest beauty of this month is leaf colour. The deep red Virginia
creeper, the bronzed beech hedges and the fiery orange of cherry trees
are all at their best now.
Smaller shrubs such as dogwood, the smoke bush, acer and sumach also provide a blaze of colour. Several climbers also provide colour well into this month including the late flowering Clematis such as 'Ernest Markham' and the berries on the Christmas Cherry. |
