HOUSE PLANTS

The house plants section at Hollybush was the largest we have ever seen. It was so large that it even had its own help desk!
The plants were in good condition and the prices were extremely competitive.

The plants had detailed information about the best growing conditions and the care needed. You will almost certainly find the indoor plant you are looking for at this garden centre. Included amongst the house plants was an excellent display of bonsai plants and trees.

AQUATICS

The aquatics section at Hollybush is very large. If you click on the picture to the right it will enlarge and give you some idea how large the aquatics accessories section is.

As well as fish feed, they stock a full range of tanks, filters, heaters and much more. We would be very surprised if this shop didn't satisfy all your aquatics needs.

The aquatics section stocked a commendably large range of tropical, cold water, marine and pond fish.

Just outside, there was a good display of water features.

PETS

The pets section was interesting even if you aren't looking to buy a pet.

There was a specialist reptile room stocking lizards, snakes and the like. There was also a separate bird room. The  normal range of small pets was also stocked and there was a comprehensive ranges of pet feeds and accessories.

OTHERS

Although Hollybush garden centre majors in plants, aquatics and pets, there was a reasonable range of gifts and cards available.

There was also a good range of outdoor garden furniture and a large section devoted to cane furniture.

CAFE

The cafe decor could be described as functional rather than attractive. There was a small eating area outside for when the weather is warm.

There were no queues when we visited and the service was very good, with main meals served to your table.

The quality of the meals was good, and there was a large range of main meals and snacks. The prices were very good, one of the cheapest cafes we have reviewed where the food quality was good. Sandwiches and rolls were around 2.50, filled jacket potatoes from 3.00 and main meals generally less the 6.00. If you want to push the boat out, order their sirloin steak at only 6.95.

DISABLED FACILITIES
Access for those on wheelchairs is good with only a few areas too narrow. There were toilets equipped for the disabled.

TOILETS
The toilets were clean and functional

CAR PARKING
The car park was fine with lots of parking spaces on a level surface.

SUMMARY

Hollybush garden centre is impressive in many ways. In fact our only significant criticism is the lack of a hardy plant guarantee. On the plus side, the range of plants is commendable, they are healthy and extremely well priced.

The aquatics and pets centres are very well stocked and make an interesting tour round. The cafe sells good quality food at very attractive prices. On any criteria we recommend a visit to Hollybush, especially if you are looking for value for money.
