World's End Garden Centre, Aylesbury
(page 2)

Pet Centre
The
pets department at World's End stocked no pets but there was a good range of pet  accessories and feeds.

Aquarium Centre
The aquarium centre at World's End was run by Maidenhead Aquatics. This is not one of their largest shops but it still managed to stock an amazingly large amount of fish and accessories. The fish looked healthy and well-kept.

The only criticism we have is that the top row of the fish tanks is very high and the fish are not fully  visible for some people.

Restaurant / Cafe Facilities

Worlds End garden centre Cafe

The Cafe at World's End is unattractive with the tables arranged in three rows in a long, poorly decorated room. There are seating and tables available outside in an uncovered area.

There was a long queue when we arrived at the peak lunch time period which seemed to be caused by slow service at the counter rather than the number of people.

There are no main meals on offer at the Worlds End garden centre. There are a variety of snacks including baked potatoes, sandwiches and salads plus coffee, tea and soft drinks.

The food quality is medium to low although the coffee and teas are fine. The prices are average for a cafe of this type.

Cafe at Worlds End garden centre

Many people now have lunch at garden centre restaurants and cafes because the food is served quickly, there is a good range of food which is often home made and is of good quality. This is not the case with this cafe. Best to do your shopping and call in at a nearby pub if you are looking for good food for lunch.

Nearby Pub For a Good Meal

The Marquis of Granby, near Worlds End garden centre, Aylesbury Turn left out of Worlds End garden centre and there is a great pub on the other side of the road. It's 2 minutes walk from the garden centre.

The Marquis of Granby is now specialising in Greek food and the menu was excellent. There were more traditional dishes, like steak, but we would recommend the Greek dishes for a change.

The atmosphere is good, the decor pleasant, the food excellent and the landlord is very welcoming. Give it a try next time you're at Worlds End, you won't be disappointed. And yes, this is a totally independent review, we have nothing to do with the Marquis of Granby public house, its food is simply far better than at Worlds End garden centre.

House Plants
The house plants looked healthy and there was a wide selection to choose from. The prices were average for a garden centre. Unusually, several of the plants were not identified at all and had no care instructions.

Disabled Facilities
Wheelchairs are available at the main entrance for no charge and all areas appeared to be wide enough and flat enough for wheelchair use.

Toilets
The toilets were very poorly signed. Although they were dated, they were clean and functional. There were toilets for the disabled and mother and toddler facilities.

Summary

The plants at World's End were good quality and the prices were average. The aquatics centre was also good. In contrast, the cafe was poor. There were a variety of gift shops with a large garden furniture area. The layout of the garden centre was unappealing and poorly signed. Overall, not a garden centre we would choose.
