Message: I have a thornless blackbery laden with fruit in its second year. But many of the leaves have now turned brown and curled with a lot of the fruit shrivelled, dried up some with a mould and all dropping off eventually. What is the problem please and the cure, if any.

Message: I have a two year old Egremont Russet apple tree which has produced only 2-3 apples each year and all fell off when very small. This year several leaves turned yellow and I was advised this was caused by aphids. I sprayed the tree in July with an organic insecticide and new green leaves are now appearing. Should I do anything else to ensure fruit for next year?
Should I spray the tree again in the spring? Many thanks
